Become an off-road expert
The aim of our off-road driving courses is to train users of all-terrain vehicles to a safe and professional standard of off-road driving. The courses can be basic, advanced or bespoke to an individual or organisation’s needs.
The objectives of all off-road training:

- To recognise the need for good observation and forward planning
- To learn important safety-related techniques for traversing grass, woodland areas, slopes and water
- To become skilled in assessing and dealing with hazards and adverse conditions
- To gain knowledge of the mechanical principles of four-wheel-drive systems
- To appreciate the extent of the vehicle’s capabilities
- To learn the principles of dynamic risk assessing
- To remain aware of environmental issues
About the courses
All courses are with an individual instructor and need to be pre-booked.
There can be some theory presentation, but the vast majority of the session will be based within (or just outside) the vehicle.
All driving courses begin with an instructor demonstration, giving you the confidence to tackle the following head on (and safely):
- Ascending and descending slopes
- Deep ruts and side slopes
- Soft unstable terrain
- A more gentle pace of driving – allowing you and the vehicle to be one with your
environment
Although highly professional, our instructors adopt an informal approach – encouraging interaction and discussion to make sure you get the most from the session.
